If you or a family member who lives with you is finding it difficult to get in and out of your home, climb the stairs, get in and out of the bath or move around your home? East North East Homes Leeds (ENEHL) Adaptations Team may be able to help you.

The Adaptations Team can arrange for minor and major adaptations to be made to your home which will give you the confidence to get in and around your home and also to live more independently. We arrange for minor and major adaptations work to be done following recommendations from Occupational Therapists.

If you want to find out more on how you can apply, please click on the Housing Adaptations and You download in the right hand column.

The type of work we carry out includes:

  • Wet floor showers: this will enable you to access your bathing facilities
  • Ramps: this will enable you to access your property with ease.
  • Hardstandings: this provides off road parking
  • Widening of doorways: this provides wheelchair access to different rooms in your property
  • Stairlifts: this provides access to upper floors in your property
  • Adapted kitchens: this will enable you to prepare and cook food

Please see some examples of our adaptations work in the Portfolio download in the right hand column.

Following an assessment the Occupational Therapist from the Disability Services Team will send recommendations for the works required to meet your needs to the ENEHL Adaptations Team.

We may need sensitive personal information to process your request, all information is confidential, but we may need to share some information with other agencies, such as Social Care, or your GP. All information is used and stored according to the data protection act.

We are committed to providing a high quality product and we pledge this commitment in our service standards.

If you want to view these, please click on the Service Standards download in the right hand column.

Before any major adaptation work starts we will give you as much information as possible. Every tenant that has a major adaptation should receive our information pack. This gives a brief overview of what our tenants can expected with different adaptation work.

If you want to view this booklet, please click on the For Your Information download in the right hand column

When work is complete we give our tenants a handover pack which contains a booklet giving our tenants handy tips and hints on how to clean and maintain their new adaptation.

If you want to view this booklet, please click on the Looking After Your Adaptations download on the right hand column

We also want your feedback on your experience of our service. We are always interested in ways to improve our service and would like you to have your say. In the right hand column you will find the questionnaire that is given to all tenants that have major work done.

If you did not receive this questionnaire please feel free to print it. You can find Your New Adaptation questionnaire in the right hand column.

Also to ensure the adaptation is still helping you live independently we will send you an Aftercare questionnaire. This will give us feedback on how the adaptation has improved your way of life and independence.

If you want to view this, please click on the Aftercare questionnaire download in the right hand column.

There may be times when we do not approve the requested adaptation made by the Occupational Therapist.  We have a re-housing package that our tenant may qualify for which includes one to one support in looking for suitable homes and the possibility of money given to assist our tenants in re-housing

To find out more about our re-housing package and whether it applies to you, please click on the So you want to move download in the right hand column.
