  • Listen to you.
  • Take account of your personal circumstances.
  • Help you work out if you qualify for housing benefit, through our Housing Benefit Advisors.
  • They may also be able to help you with other benefits you may be entitled to.
  • Tell you about other debt management and counselling agencies that may be able to help you.
  • Agree a suitable re-payment plan to stop any further arrears action.

Ignoring problems doesn’t make them go away.

If we tell you you’re in arrears it’s important that you act straight away.

If you don’t, we’ll take action against you – this could include:

  • A County Court Judgement – this will seriously affect your credit rating.
  • A Third Party Order – deductions are made directly from your bank account.
  • An Attachment of Earnings Order – deductions are made directly from your wage / salary.
  • A Possession Order - a Court order to clear the arrears.
  • Eviction – this means you lose your home.
