Effective performance management is a critical factor in ensuring we deliver sustained improvements. It can help demonstrate whether we have delivered what we set out to do against our service aims. It also provides a track record of self improvement and the delivery of better services to our customers.
A performance management framework consists of strategies, plans, policies and indicators, both national and local, that enables the performance of the company to be effectively monitored and regularly reported on in an open and transparent manner. It is linked to our Service Improvement Plan Framework. This allows us to focus performance information on areas that are critical to the success of the company as a whole.
This is then supported by a framework of accountability meetings scheduled across the calendar year to discuss performance and progress against the plans and performance indicators, the highlights and exceptions and what actions will be taken to manage where improvements have not been delivered as planned.
